Photo 215 Mother’s notes: Our first Christmas as a foster family. Dave’s note: I believe the little guy is Michael.
Photo 216 Mother’s notes: 1967 Dad (Floyd) digging a well for Allen’s parents. Was a big thing for them and us too.
Photo 217 Dave’s notes: Tom & Gunhild did not have a well in the home in Effie, the home the purchased when they sold the homestead to my dad. This home did have a cistern. Tom would haul drinking water from the liquor store for drinking. Mother & dad hired Floyd to dig a new well.
Photo 218 Dave’s notes: These photo were taken after the well was dug and producing water. Dad & Floyd are now putting in a pit for the pump, pressure tank, etc. The home was plumbed for running water. The water came from the cistern. Once the pump & pressure tank was plumbed in, no more cistern water or hauling drinking water.
Photo 219 Dave’s notes: This is a nice photo. The photo is dated 1966. I have yet to figure out whee this photo was taken.

Photo 222 Mother’s notes: Our 4th home.
Photo 223 Mother’s notes: Back up north, remember our deer cabin. Dave’s Notes: This is the old grainery that was originally located on the homestead. When dad sold the homestead building site, we moved the the grainery to dad’s original farm driveway.
Photo 224 Mother’s notes: The old barn on our 1st farm. Dave’s notes: This was a log barn. Eventually it succumbed to the elements. It was located on dad’s original farm (the Weining farm). I remember using it as a deer stand in the 1960-70’s.
Photo 225 Dave’s notes: This is the pasture near the log barn. There was a log house not far from the barn that is long gone. If I remember right, mother’s family lived in the log house until they moved to the the Knight/Evenson farm.
Photo 226 Mother’s notes: The trees on our first farm, the first trees we planted.
